Looking to bring consistency and quality to adult recreational and medical marijuana users, New York-based Columbia Care recently announced the launching of Seed & Strain, a cannabis lifestyle brand.

In a press release Oct. 8, Columbia Care said the new product line was created to provide consumers a credible, consistent line of clean and powerful cannabis products.

“This brand was born to meet the needs of today’s cannabis customer,” said Nicholas Vita, Columbia Care CEO, in a prepared statement.

Columbia Care currently operates 99 facilities – 76 dispensaries, 23 cultivation and manufacturing – with licenses in 18 jurisdictions in the United States and European Union. The company has three medical marijuana locations in Delaware, one in all three counties. The Rehoboth dispensary opened in October 2019.

Vita said customers shared concerns over the quality and consistency of products. Customers want a streamlined buying experience with access to brands that represent products of similar quality, traits, and potency, he said.

Jesse Channon, Columbia Care chief growth officer, said the company sees an opportunity and responsibility to build national brands that customers and patients can trust and rely on.

“The two largest struggles for any well-designed cannabis brand in the past have been the difficulty of offering products in multiple markets, as well as control over supply chain to ensure consistent quality,” said Channon, in a prepared statement.

Columbia Care’s scaled national operations and reputation for high-quality products uniquely position the company to solve these issues and deliver a thoughtfully built brand with consistent, curated product collections available from coast to coast.

Seed & Strain flower products were launched in Massachusetts, Illinois and Delaware. Columbia Care officials say there are plans to expand the brand to markets in Arizona, California and Florida. According to the press release announcing Seed & Strain, over the coming weeks and months, consumers will see product offerings such as tinctures, pre-rolls, vape kits and topicals added to the first wave of flower products hitting the shelves at the outset.

Springfield (Missouri)

The “Queen City of the Ozarks”, Springfield is a hub with big city amenities and small town hospitality, brimming over with American history and unique sites. Birthplace to the historic and iconic Route 66, Springfield now prides itself on its livability factors, especially for young persons and growing families. Offering a perfect range of hot summer days, cozy Spring and Fall nights with just enough snowfall to have a decent ski season not far from town.

During the American Civil War, many important battles took place in and around Springfield including the Battle of Wilson’s Creek which claimed Nathaniel Lyon’s life, the first General of the Union to die during the war. Also notable were the First Battle of Springfield and following that, the Second Battle of Springfield. At Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield you can check out exhibits and take yourself on a self-guided tour of the historical Americana site. Another mention worthy historical event was the shootout between Wild Bill Hickok and Davis Tutt in which Wild Bill killed Tutt over an alleged debt and stolen watch. This shootout took place in Park Central Square, which you can still (safely) visit today.

Springfield is the pulse of the Ozarks and offers so many incredible attractions including the Fantastic Caverns, the only caves in North America large enough that you can access via driving through on Jeep-led trams. Smallin Civil War Cave also has the largest cavern opening in all of Missouri. Springfield Nature Conservation Center offers 32 hectares of forests and fields to stroll through exhibiting native flora and fauna while Dickerson Park Zoo has over 120 different species of animals in their care.

Spend a day out discovering historic C-Street and downtown Springfield taking advantage of the numerous boutiques and award-winning restaurants the two unique areas have to offer. Buying Autoflower Seeds Online

When growing a small number of plants, choosing auto flower feminised seeds can be a smart way to go. Autoflower seeds, as the name suggests, start the process of flowering upon germination, effectively reducing the growing time to half of the average regular plant. What these rapid cycling plants lack in stature, often growing only 2-2.5 feet tall, they make up for in harvest times. Many varieties go full cycle seed to harvest in as little as 10 weeks. Figuratively speaking, you could be less than 3 months away from harvesting your own crops with these bad boys!

How do Feminized Seeds Work?

Feminized seeds are pretty much exactly what they sound like. Females. These seeds are the babies of a female plant that has been encouraged to grow pollination sacks, like a male plant would, and then that pollen is used to pollinate another female plant. The resulting seeds carry only female genetics. While this process may sound bizarre, it’s a totally safe and effective method used for growing the bud producing female plants without having to remove male plants before they spoil your crops. Since pollinated females stop producing trichomes and instead focus their energy on reproducing, you could be left with a crop of buds that are seedy and bunk if a male plant isn’t removed in time. Take the hassle and guesswork out of checking plants for sexes and purchase your feminized cannabis seeds for sale from I49.

Pineapple express cannabis seeds

Our Pineapple Express is a perfect combination of sensations and flavors, comparable to a fine Brandy or a handmade sports car, It’s a marijuana variety created for those who love pleasure and know how to savor every fine morsel of life. Tasty and exemplary overall, this is without a doubt, one of our best autoflowering strains. It’s a hybrid formed from an ideal combination of genetics with fruity flavors

Pineapple Express offers a mixture of unforgettable aromas: ripe fruit, tropical and sweet, very sweet pineapple; sensations that will lead you to discover pleasures like sex. Pineapple Express is for those who have hedonistic palates – those who like to indulge in a delicious desert and sweet liquor with attractive companions in a luxurious restaurant.

Thanks to its high THC levels and the pleasurable effects induced by its aroma, this variety is a fantastic aphrodisiac, able to stimulate the sexual appetite and heat up the coldest, most frigid room with hot sex energy in a matter of moments. Its smoke is pleasant with a deep juicy pineapple flavor. It reduces anxiety, increases happiness and produces a sensation of weightlessness, the high is like foreplay – a soft entrance that after five minutes leaves you free of rational thoughts and totally uninhibited. All you’ll be left with is pure instinct and a deep need to offer up your desires to the heat of the moment.

Pineapple Express is a feminized and autoflowering strain that can grow large. It’s a great Sativa Indica hybrid and the autoflowering genetics are superb, resulting in extremely rapid flowering times. For this reason, its name contains the word “Express”. While growing this plant you’ll get the impression that you’re in a tropical party full of happiness and sweet lusciousness. A more pronounced effect is apparent in cold countries where the plant floods the cultivation room with exotic and tropical aromas. The intense pineapple smell entices one to take special care of it during the entire harvest, like if you were preparing a tasty gourmet cake. Its cultivation is simple, pleasant, and very fast, since it will be completely mature within 60 days, and can yield 300 grams per plant (10 oz) when conditions are favorable. It is quite a large autoflowering variety, and can reach a height of 140 cm (55 inches). For this reason we recommend 10 liter pots (3 gallons). Plus, it’s fine for novice growers since it only needs special attention with regards to pH and light, but you should judge the plant by its results – it’s worth it! This strain does well with added fertilizers except for nitrogen, which you should use in moderation. This plant can surprise one with its distinctive characteristics. It seems like a pineapple, not only due to its aroma, but because while growing it develops a profusion of cones and robust dark green leaves. After the first week of flowering it starts to build up a coating of resin that, by the end of flowering (which lasts about 54 days), will cover the entire plant.

We have indeed achieved a strain with abundant resin that has an explosively potent composition: 20% THC and 0.9% of CBD. This means a phenomenal experience is assured.

Gender: Feminized

The first experience you have with cannabis is a defining experience. For many, an unpleasant first encounter with cannabis can lead to a life-long hesitancy towards this beneficial medicine. This makes it important to approach your first session with some caution to make sure you do not take too high of a dose.

In this guide, we will provide some tips on how to have a great first experience while also sharing some of the best strains for beginners.

How To Prepare For The First Time

Congratulations! After hearing about all of the benefits, you’ve decided that you want to give cannabis a shot. Before you take that first hit, there are some important things to keep in mind.

For starters, brace yourself to not get high your first time. Depending on your age and any previous drug experience, your first time may not be too exciting. For this reason, it is important to be patient and not lose hope after just one try. It is common and something that can just happen!

Adding onto that, we also recommend making sure that you inhale your first time. For many first-timers, this is an easy step to miss. For many people, the first time they really inhaled was the first time they really felt it. So, during your first try, make sure you get a full inhale of smoke and allow it to take you to infinity and beyond!

Finally, make sure you hydrate! Dehydration is one of the easiest ways to cause your body to tense up and become anxious. Coughing and smoke can make your mouth and throat very dry, so be sure to keep some fresh water on hand in order to keep yourself grounded.

Top Cannabis Strains For Beginners

Without further ado, here are the best strains to consider as a newcomer to cannabis:

Blue Dream

The obligatory “popular” weed strain is Blue Dream. Blue Dream is famous due to its well-balanced and euphoric effects that keep newbies and veterans alike hooked. BD is known for its mellow experience and balanced, full-body effects. Lovers of Blue Dream enjoy the calming yet creatively invigorating mental state that it can breed.

Harlequin

While Harlequin can be strong at higher doses, it is a great choice for beginners due to its high CBD:THC ratio. This creates a very smooth environment that is very unlikely to become overwhelming. The effects for most people include a calming yet euphoric high that soothes the mind.

OG Kush

For many smokers, OG Kush was their first introduction to weed — and for good reason! The strain really is the OG of cannabis. With a delicious smell and flavor, OG Kush is able to provide a very balanced head and body high that helps to wash away stress and anxiety while creating a positive and goofy mental state that can help you to enjoy any activity in a new light. OG Kush is an Indica dominant strain, making it best to enjoy in the back half of the day leading to bedtime.

Jack Herer

Jack Herer became famous back in the 70s when cannabis was making its rounds in the hippie community. This strain achieved legendary status due to its light yet captivating effects. This strain is perfect for new users because it welcomes you to cannabis with open arms, showing you the delights of being high without plunging you too deeply into the rabbit hole. It is known to cause a warm, invigorating euphoria that can help you feel delighted with any task without the chance of overstimulation.

God’s Gift

If you enjoy meditating and enjoying dreamy, calming experiences, then God’s Gift may be a fun option for your first session. While this strain can be a pretty strong experience at higher doses, just taking a few puffs can get you a very fun, relieving, yet stimulating high that anyone will enjoy. Be careful with how much you use, though, as this strain contains a good amount of THC.

Grandaddy Purple

A fun and interesting choice for first-timers, GDP is a fun, purple-flowered cannabis strain that provides a sleepy, dreamy, pain and anxiety-relieving high. GDP is an Indica strain that is best saved for users who want to relieve stress and anxiety or get to sleep more easily.

This strain is a great option for newcomers because it provides a very relaxing, tiring, and munchie-fueled high that can give you that classic stoner experience with your friends.

Get Cannabis From Pure Oasis

No matter what strain you go with, the fact is that various strains affect people differently, and everyone’s tolerance for cannabis varies. With this in mind, just pick a strain that interests you, be safe, and have fun!

Pure Oasis is Boston’s original cannabis dispensary. Their boutique cannabis dispensary offers a user-friendly experience with knowledgeable staff and a wide variety of high-quality cannabis products.

5 easy marijuana strains to grow for beginners

Growing weed is pretty easy, but some strains can be trickier to grow than others. Some are delicate and need a lot of attention or are prone to disease or mold, while others are sturdy and can handle missing a watering for a day or two. Also, certain strains have adapted to specific climates, so it might not make sense to grow one suited to warm weather if you live in a cold place.

So here are five strains that are easy to grow for beginners: they grow strong, yield high, can grow in many different climates, and have a forgiving margin of error.

And to make things even easier, you may want to check out feminized or autoflower versions of them—feminized seeds don’t need to be sexed out to identify and get rid of pesky male plants; with autoflowers, you don’t have to worry about light changing, and you can harvest plants 2-3 months after seeds sprout.

Blue Dream

Tried-and-true, Blue Dream is a classic and one of the most popular strains, for both consumers and growers. This cross of Blueberry and Haze originated in Northern California and is a dream to grow—it usually grows big and strong and has high yields of buds, likely a result of its sativa-dominant genetics. Be sure to scrog it to maximize yields.

Its sturdiness gives it a large margin of error when growing, in case you forget to water or give it nutrients, or give it too many nutrients for that matter. Blue Dream grows well in many different climates, both indoors and outdoors and can handle cold nights.

Wedding Cake

A relative newcomer to the strain world, Wedding Cake is a Cookies cross that launched a whole new family of cake strains, such as Ice Cream Cake, LA Kush Cake, Cake Batter, and so much more.

Its indica-dominant genetics means it usually grows short and stout, but it still gets solid yields and has dense buds. You’ll want to be sure to prune and top Wedding Cake to get rid of some of its foliage, for fear of it developing mold. This frosty strain is covered in trichomes and will be a sticky one in your garden, but its sweet citrusy smells with hints of vanilla make it a pleasure to grow.

Super Lemon Haze

This cross of legendary Super Silver Haze and Lemon Skunk will definitely bring some lemon scents to your garden. Super Lemon Haze has some strong sativa in its genetics, so it likes slightly warmer climates with a little more humidity, but it is still versatile and can thrive in most places.

This is a strong, sturdy plant that doesn’t need much attention, but be sure to give it plenty of space to stretch out—it grows tall, like parent Lemon Skunk. Scrogging always helps, but you’ll likely get solid yields even without it. SLH usually takes a little longer to flower, around nine weeks, another sign of its sativa roots, so you may need to be a little patient when waiting to harvest this one.

GMO Cookies

Another relatively new strain, GMO Cookies will smell like nothing you’ve ever grown before—its nickname is “Garlic Cookies.” Crossing two classic strains, GSC and Chemdog, GMO has dense, sticky, light green buds with orange hairs and is a high yielder. Its trichome levels make it a good one for pressing your own hash.

This strain can handle many climates, both indoors and outdoors, but it can take a long time to flower—more like nine or ten weeks. Regardless, GMO Cookies is a new standard that packs a punch and brings some great savory scents to your garden.

Sour OG

Sour OG is a great strain for beginners looking to grow something a little different. This OG Kush and Sour Diesel cross has a complex mix of scents—skunk, spice, and of course fuel, with some hints of pine and lemon.

The OG Kush genes come out in its dense buds, but it can take more humidity and does well when trellised or scrogged. Its got a moderate flowering time—about 8 weeks—yields well, and is a tough plant. If you’re looking for something a little more potent and with a unique flavor profile, Sour OG may be for you.

1. Blue Dream

Blue Dream is a Sativa-dominant hybrid that crosses two champion strains: Super Silver Haze (SSH) and Blueberry. Blue Dream is well-loved by both novices and experts alike for its balanced Sativa effect and pleasant taste. Blue Dream contains a wide range of terpenes, which may help explain why the THC’s effects are not so overwhelming.

The Blue Dream strain is very approachable, and its popularity reflects this characteristic. Blue Dream may work particularly well for stress, anxiety, and depression . Blue Dream is known for its peppery, piney, herbal, and lavender taste, suggesting that this variety often contains the following terpenes: linalool, beta-caryophyllene, pinene, and myrcene.

It’ll take more than being able to grow the best Purple Kush to get ahead in cannabis!

2. Cannatonic

Cannatonic was bred for its balanced THC and high-CBD content (usually, about double the amount of CBD to THC), making it ideal for those who want to avoid the psychoactive effects of THC, but want to take advantage of some of its painkilling properties. Cannatonic is a cross between MK Ultra and G13 Haze.

The strain AC/DC is a sub-type of Cannatonic with a high amount of CBD. Like many CBD-rich strains, Cannatonic could be particularly useful for stress, pain, anxiety, depression, and muscle spasms (and for some, migraines ) during the daytime. Cannatonic is often described as having an herbal, pine, and pepper flavor profile, suggesting the presence of the terpenes pinene, myrcene, and beta-caryophyllene.

3. Harlequin

Harlequin is another CBD-rich strain. Some have reported that Harlequin is slightly more “uplifting” compared to Cannatonic. Again, the low-THC and the high-CBD combination can make Harlequin very approachable for new users. Harlequin is a descendant of Colombian Gold, Nepali Indica, and Thai and Swiss landrace Sativas.

Many people use Harlequin for pain, anxiety, and depression, especially during the daytime. The mango flavors associated with Harlequin could be due to the terpene myrcene. Harlequin may have a similar flavor profile to Cannatonic, meaning the terpenes in both strains are similar, but the concentrations are different in each.

4. Northern Lights (NL)

An Indica-dominant strain of Afghani parentage (with a touch of Thai Sativa), NL is a classic “couchlock” strain often enjoyed at night for its sleepy effects.

NL has also been used as a building block for many other strains for its stability, from SSH to White Widow. There are nine different original versions of NL, of which numbers 1, 2, 5, and 9 are the most desirable. There is a high amount of THC in NL, but some variations have some CBD to balance out the THC.

Northern Lights is noted for its herbal, peppery, citrus flavor profile, suggesting a mixture of the terpenes myrcene, limonene, and beta-caryophyllene. These work together with the cannabinoids for relaxing, euphoric effects.

Some have noted a slight energetic twist in some variations, which may be one reason why the creators picked Northern Lights to breed with several hazes, with the offspring being prize-winning strains like Super Silver Haze and NL5 x Haze.

The strain Northern Lights is also a short, stocky, and hardy plant that produces the classic “Christmas tree” shape. Due to its reliability and flavor profile, Northern Lights has been crossed with many strains to improve their vigor, shorten growth time, and potentially even save their genetics. These factors make Northern Lights one of the best marijuana strains for beginner growers , too.

5. Blueberry

Blueberry is another classic Indica that comes from Thai stock, with some Afghani. Blueberry is possibly one of the most crossed strains there is, which is a testament to the strength of its genetics. Blueberry and its variations will likely stay with us for quite some time, and the original will likely always be enjoyed for its potential for insomnia, pain relief, depression, anxiety, and stress.

Crosses like Blue Moonshine (Blueberry x Afghani) and Blue Cheese (Blueberry x UK Cheese) have more potent effects. Blueberry is noted for its fruity, piney, lavender, and occasionally slightly peppery taste. This suggests the terpenes myrcene, pinene, linalool, beta-caryophyllene, and some terpinolene are present in Blueberry and one of its many crosses.

Blueberry cannabis varietal.

6. Jack Herer

Jack Herer is a cross of three classic strains in Haze, Shiva Skunk, and Northern Lights #5 and comes with a classic taste to boot. Jack Herer can be pretty potent but also acts as a good entry point for other energizing Sativas. Jack Herer could be useful for depression, fatigue, stress, and ADHD. Jack Herer can alternately have more uplifting, euphoric, energizing effects.

Jack Herer is said to have a fruity, peppery, herbal flavor profile, suggesting terpinolene, beta-caryophyllene, and myrcene terpenes. Some variations also have a strong lemon flavor, suggesting limonene. Some varieties may contain high amounts of cannabigerol (CBG), but this still needs to be determined.

7. Hindu Kush

Hindu Kush is another Indica strain, although some report it having slightly different effects from your usual Indicas. Although sleepiness is one of its potential effects, some report Hindu Kush as having a little more uplifting and euphoric effect when compared to other Indicas. This could be due to Hindu Kush’s more citrusy, peppery flavor profile produced by terpenes like limonene, beta-caryophyllene, and pinene.

Hindu Kush is an excellent example of why you have to look beyond the Sativa vs. Indica label. In its natural environment of the Kush mountains, the same variety of kush plants grow tall like a Sativa at the lower altitudes and short and bushy like an Indica at higher altitudes to survive in different environments.

Many prize the hashish from Hindu Kush for its spicy, earthy, vanilla, and sandalwood flavors. The noted musky, spicy, earthy taste that can come with some kush varieties could be due to myrcene, as well as some delta-3-carene.

8. Granddaddy Purple (GDP)

Another Indica, this time a cross between Purple Urkle and Big Bud. GDP is renowned for its purple flowers, grape and berry aroma and taste, and fusion of euphoric and physically relaxing effects. GDP could be useful for appetite loss, muscle spasms , pain, stress, and nausea. Linalool, humulene, and myrcene are common terpenes in GDP, which suggest a sleepy effect.

9. Orange Bud

Orange Bud comes from a cross of two different Skunk #1 variations. It has a moderate THC profile with mellow effects that can help boost creativity. Orange Bud is very popular among newbies for stress- and anxiety-busting. TGA Subcool’s Agent Orange has a similar flavor and effect profile, whereas Orange Diesel has a stronger, more uplifting effect, commonly associated with Sativas.

The strain Orange Bud could also be useful for depression. The citrusy and fruity flavor suggests terpenes like limonene and terpinolene. Many Sativa strains could be overwhelming for those with anxiety. Orange Bud is a hybrid that may help solve some of the issues associated with purer Sativas.

10. Sour Tsunami

A cross between two CBD-rich NYC Diesel and Sour Diesel strains, Sour Tsunami is a low-THC, high-CBD Sativa-dominant hybrid noted for its effectiveness at combating pain and inflammation . Sour Tsunami has an herbal, fruity, piney flavor profile, suggesting terpinolene, pine, and myrcene.

Tips and Advice for Beginners

There’s much more to cannabis than finding your favorite strain. Here are some more helpful tips to understand cannabis as a plant and its effects on your body.

Understand the Difference Between Indica and Sativa

There is much controversy surrounding the differences between Indica and Sativa strains. In general, when looking at the cannabis plant’s chemical makeup and the degree of hybridization that takes place, most types of cannabis are clustered around the middle and look more similar than different.

Yet, several people have noted significant differences in Indica and Sativa effects. This may be partly a placebo effect, as well as the power of suggestion. Yes, “Sativa” and “indica” are arbitrary, but breeders’ selective processes are not.

Varieties of cannabis from equatorial regions (e.g., Durban Poison) tend to contain more tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV). Types from Afghani and Kush heritage may contain more myrcene, which is why they tend to make people sleepy. Varietals like Super Silver Haze (SSH), Jack Herer, and Amnesia Haze have a distinct limonene-beta-caryophyllene terpene profile.

Cannatonic and Harlequin tend to produce more CBD, as they have been bred with that purpose in mind. Blueberry varietals are noted for their piney (pinene), peppery (beta-caryophyllene), fruity (terpineol), and lavender (linalool) smells and tastes. These are general tendencies and not necessarily firm-and-fast rules.

It may be easier to think of strains in terms of groups. If you find a variety of cannabis that is particularly effective for you, take note of its cannabinoid-terpenoid profile, genetics, and the breeder, then look for other strains in the group that match that profile.

Pay Attention to Terpenes

Just as important as THC and CBD are a strain’s terpenes. Terpenes are the oils within the cannabis that give it different flavors and smells – they’re what make some strains smell like citrus (limonene) and others smell like pine (pinene). If you find a particular terpene or group of terpenes that positively affect you, keep on the lookout for strains and products that match that profile.

Understand Methods of Ingestion

The way you consume cannabis exerts different effects based on how your body breaks down the THC and CBD, so the method of ingestion matters .

    • Vaping: The cannabis flower is a commonplace to start for many beginners. Vaporized cannabis has immediate effects, making it easier to know how it’ll affect you right away.
    • Edibles: These take longer to kick in and can be strong, as the liver breaks down the THC in edibles, making the cannabinoid more psychoactive.
    • Tinctures: An infusion of cannabis and oil is a good in-between method of ingestion, as the effects are faster than edibles and longer-lasting than vaping. An example of a popular tincture is cannabis-infused coconut or olive oil. Others infuse cannabis in alcohol to make an alcohol-based tincture (colloquially called “green dragon”).

    Know the Possible Side Effects

Even if you use a beginner-friendly cannabis strain, there’s still a chance that you could experience unwanted side effects . The side effects of too much cannabis are easy to recognize and may include:

      • Sleepiness
      • Anxiety or paranoia
      • Red eyes
      • Dizziness and nausea
      • Dry mouth
      • Hunger pangs
      • Increased heart rate

If you experience these side effects, know that they will most likely pass in a matter of hours. But if the side effects are severe or prolonged, it is wise to seek medical counsel.

The best way to avoid the side effects of cannabis is to receive a doctor’s prescription with correct dosing. Reach out to the physicians at Leafwell, and we’ll help you apply for a medical marijuana card today.

How to germinate cannabis seeds in paper towel

The best Marijuana Seeds selection, from the finest sativas until the most medicinal Indicas, discover them in Delicious Seeds. No germination method is perfect (some seeds just won't germinate), but I've gotten 100% germination ever since I started using this method. Germinate refers to the process in which the plant begins to grow from seeds. Using the paper towel method offers an easy and effective method.

How to germinate with the paper towel method

Daily we reveive the questions like “what is the best way to germinate” or “how do I start germinating”, We know this is for lots of people not an easy thing said…. So we tought to make it as a subject in the next weeks

First of all we want to say there are really a lot of ways to germinate seeds and each one definitely has his/her best way for a 100% succeed …

Germinating with Kitchen paper and tupper

This is a pretty easy way to do it, you only need a vacuum closeable tupper or what you can find in the kitchen to keep things vacuum, then you take the kitchen paper and you fill the bottom of the tupper with a layer of the paper, then you spray the layer with water from around 23 degrees Celcius until it is wet but not soaken wet .Then you take the seeds and put them slowly and careful on the wet layer with each a good distance between the seeds so they can´t get strangled .then you put another layer of kitchen paper above the seeds so they all are covered and then you also spray this layer wet, but again not to wet (this all to avoid rotten or mold) .You close the tupper and you put it in a total dark place with a temperature around 21 to 24 degrees Celcius. In around 36 to 72 hours you will see the seeds are popped and they can go in to soil for further rooting and growth .

Under here we show you a video tutorial how to do it .

Thanks for watching and if you doubt about something or you have questions don´t hazer to contact us

How to Germinate Seeds via Paper Towel Method

Cannabis seeds are natural things and you can’t expect 100% germination every time. Unfortunately, that’s just not how nature works. Many factors can affect germination including genetics (some strains germinate easier than others), the age of seeds, and how well they were stored. But I’ve been lucky and gotten 100% germination ever since I started using this method.

Paper Towel Method – Germinate seeds between wet paper towels, lock in the moisture with two plates, and place on a seedling heat mat for a few days

Pros

  • High Germination Rate – Almost every seed with germinate if you follow the instructions
  • Fast – Often takes only 1-3 days to see roots
  • Keep Track – You can check on seeds without disturbing them
  • Less Space – Use less space than planting seeds in pots (helpful if germinating lots of seeds at once)
  • Fun – I personally love seeing the whole germination process and it makes me genuinely feel closer to the seedlings
  • Multiple Steps – Not as simple as planting seeds directly in soil!
  • Requires Supplies – You need cheap paper towels, seedling plugs, and a seedling heat mat
  • “Bucket Head” Seedlings – I’ve found that shells are more likely to get stuck on the seedling leaves with this germination method because seedlings aren’t pushing themselves out of the soil. You may want to use tweezers to remove the shell gently, or just leave them be. However, this can happen with any method (instructions at the end of the article explain how to remove stubborn shells safely) and I personally find the increased germination rate makes this worth it.

Seeds typically germinate in 1-3 days!

Create happy little seedlings in less than a week!

How to Germinate via the Paper Towel Method

Supplies

  • Cheap paper towels – Why cheap paper towels? Seed roots grow into expensive cloth-like ones and have to be cut out (learned that one from experience)
  • Two Plates – You need to lock the moisture in during the germination process
  • Cannabis Seeds – If you need seeds, here’s a list of seed vendors that ship worldwide
  • Rapid Rooters with Tray – The perfect environment for newly germinated seeds
  • Seedling Heating Mat – Or any warm surface that stays about 70-85°F (20-30°C) to keep seeds warm

Cheap paper towels (don’t use the expensive cloth-like ones!)

Rapid Rooters (note: extra Rapid Rooters can be stored in a cool place for future grows)

Seedling Tray to hold Rapid Rooters

Seedling heat mat to keep seedlings warm (or any surface that’s about 70-85°F or 20-30°C)

1.) Put 3-4 Layers of Paper Towels on Plate

You don’t want to load your plate up with tons of paper towels, but it’s nice to have several sheets so they can hold plenty of water. If necessary, fold or cut the paper towels to size so everything fits completely inside the plate. If a paper towel is sticking outside the plates, everything will dry out quickly.

You may need to cut (or fold) paper towels so they fit completely inside plate

2.) Label the Strains

If growing more than one strain at a time, label the paper towels so you’ll know which seed is which.

3.) Add Water & Seeds

Add some water on top of the paper towels so they’re soaked through, then place seeds down. I add water first to avoid accidentally moving seeds. It’s also a good idea to keep the plate flat so seeds don’t roll around.

4.) Cover with 1 Sheet of Paper Towel

Put a single sheet of paper towel on top. With just one sheet you will be able to see whether the seeds have germinated without having to disturb them. You may need to add a little extra water so that the top sheet is moist all the way through.

With a single sheet on top, you can still mostly see the seeds

5.) Put 2nd Plate on Top

Lock in all the moisture by putting another plate on top.

6.) Place on Seedling Heat Mat

Plug in your seedling heat mat. It should warm up quickly. I’ve put the plates directly on the mat before, which worked well, but sometimes I worry my little weed seedlings may get too hot with the plate directly on the mat. Since I already have a Rapid Rooter tray for later, I place it between the mat and the plate. Feel free to use something else like a book or towel. The basic idea is to put some space between the heating mat and the plate so the plate still gets warm but the extra air space keeps the heat nice and even.

Why a seedling heat mat? Seeds germinate significantly faster when they’re kept 70-85°F (20-30°C). A seedling heat mat keeps seeds warm during the germination process. However, any warm spot works just as well (for example, on top of the refrigerator is the perfect temperature for some people). When you touch the wet paper towels, they should feel warm but not burning hot.

7.) Check on Seeds at Least Once a Day

Ensure paper towels don’t dry out. You may have to add more water occasionally to keep them wet. You can usually tell when the seeds have germinated without looking under the top sheet. This means you can check on your seeds regularly without disturbing them by picking up the top plate.

Seeds typically sprout in 1-3 days. Certain strains and older seeds may take a few extra days.

8.) Put Germinated Seeds in Rapid Rooters

Once seeds have germinated, gently pull off the top paper towel to reveal the seedlings underneath.

Carefully and slowly remove top paper towel sheet

Did you know the first two round seedling leaves were already fully formed inside the shell? The germination process only releases them. New leaves are yellow at first but turn green once they start getting light.

At this point, you may see some seedling leaves have already broken free of their shells. That’s awesome. These seedlings often grow the fastest.

If there’s a short root or seedling hasn’t germinated yet, put the paper towel back and gave the seedling one more day. Seedlings grow faster if they have a bit more root before being planted.

This Critical Purple Kush seed took an extra day to germinate compared to the other seeds. I gave it one more day after this so the root could get longer before I put in a Rapid Rooter.

I recommend cutting your Rapid Rooters in half to make it easier to place germinated seeds. Even a seed with a long wiggly root will usually easily fit into the “crack” of the Rapid Rooter. This prevents you from bending the roots.

Cut Rapid Rooters in half to make it easier to insert germinated seeds

Try to place the seed head close to the top so they don’t have far to go. I’ve found that some seedlings don’t make it to the top if you put them too far down.

If the seedling has already lost the shell, place the leaves close to the top. These seedlings often grow the fastest.

Otherwise, add the seedling, root down, with the shell close to the surface

Gently close around the seedling

Put into the Rapid Rooter tray (make sure they’re moist all the way through!) The bottom shell of the tray will hold extra water so plugs don’t dry out.

Add enough water that all the Rapid Rooters appear dark, but not shiny from too much water. Once you’re done, put the trays back on the seedling mat. Young seedlings love warmth!

9.) You Have Seedlings!

The leaves should appear above the Rapid Rooters within a day or two.

Just 12 hours later, several seedlings have already appeared above ground.

At this point, the seedlings are ready to be put under a gentle light. A sunny window works well, though your regular vegetative grow light should be fine as long as you keep it twice the normal distance away. Avoid touching the seedlings if possible. This is when they’re most vulnerable.

Within a day or two under a light (or in a sunny window), you’ll have a bunch of happy seedings!

The seedlings are ready to go in plant containers once they’ve spread out their first set of serrated leaves (to about the width of the Rapid Rooter)

At this point, you can plant the whole Rapid Rooter. Don’t forget to label the strains!

Move the grow light down to the standard distance once the plants have 3 sets of leaves. By now they should be growing fast!

Note: Move grow light down early if seedlings start getting tall with long stems. Tall, stretchy seedlings are telling you they want more light.

What If the Seedling Shell Gets Stuck? (“Bucket Head” Seedlings)

One downside to this method is sometimes a seed shell will get stuck on the seedling. Here’s how to deal with that.

Helpful Tool: Pointy tweezers (though most tweezers will work in a pinch)

Sometimes leaves get stuck in the shell. Here’s what to do.

First, give the seedling 24-48 hours to see if it pushes the shell off on its own. Many seedlings just need a little extra time and don’t need your help.

Ignore stuck shells if the leaves are already free. The shell will fall off on its own.

If you don’t see any progress and leaves still seem trapped after a day or two, you may need to remove the shell to release the leaves contained inside. If leaves can’t break free and see the light, the seedling may die.

Close tweezers so they are as narrow as possible and put inside the crack. Then slowly allow tweezers to open, which will gently pry the shell apart.

I used to use my fingers to remove shells but it can be hard not to disturb the seedling. Then I learned that a pair of pointy tweezers can be inserted into the crack and allowed to gently open to pry the seed apart. Don’t tug or use any force whatsoever. Just gently and slowly release the leaves. The leaves may be stuck to the shell at first and it can take several seconds of gentle tugging for the leaves to slowly loosen and pull away from the shell. If you’re having trouble, add some water to the stuck part and wait a few minutes to help soften it up.

If the seedling leaves aren’t opening up because they’re stuck inside the seed membrane, wet the membrane and give it a few minutes soften up. Then use tweezers to gently remove the membrane. In some cases, it’s easier to stick the tweezers inside and pry the leaves apart just like with a shell.

If leaves are stuck inside the shell membrane for more than a day or two, do this: Wet the membrane, wait a few minutes, then use tweezers to gently pry it away from leaves.

Once you can see the two individual leaves are separated, you’re good to go!

Germinate Seeds With the Paper Towel Method – How to Guide

Check out our beginner grower’s guide to learn how to germinate seeds with the paper towel method. Every cannabis plant starts off as a tiny seed with the potential to grow huge yields and bountiful buds. If you want to start your garden on the right foot, the germination phase is critical to its future growth.

What Is Germination?

Germination refers to the process in which the plant begins to grow from a seed. As the first stage of the growth cycle, germinating a seed requires a grower to create the perfect environment to get those seeds to break open and pop with a fresh and vigorous growth.

So, what is needed to get these seeds popping?

A seed requires plenty of moisture to absorb, increase in size, and gradually break out of the shell. You know you’ve done the germination process right when a seedling emerges from the hard seed shell. This growth will be the basis of the roots and the part of the seedling that absorbs nutrients from the growing medium.

Starting off with a high-quality seed is critical. Avoid seeds that feel fresh and soft and look green. Mature seeds have a hard outer shell. However, they can get too old and mishandled and won’t sprout as effectively. Before you get to the germination phase, it’s important to store your seeds in a dark, dry, and cool space.

What Is the Paper Towel Method?

For seed germination, the paper towel method is one of the easiest and most effective ways to get your cannabis seeds to pop. Essentially, you’re germinating seeds between two damp paper towels and a couple of plates, which are used to create a contained and dark environment for a few days. During this time, the seeds will begin to sprout, if done correctly.

Letters to the Editor — June 26, 2022

People of Thailand are certain to be in high spirits come next month when the government will give away 1 million free cannabis plants for home cultivation.

Thailand’s public health minister, who has spearheaded the country’s drive to decriminalize weed, announced in a Facebook post Sunday the government will distribute 1 million of the plants when most legal restrictions on production and possession of the drug are lifted in June.

Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul added that people would be able to grow as many cannabis plants as they like at their homes.

In February, Charnvirakul signed a measure officially dropping cannabis, best known in the form of marijuana, from a list of controlled drugs.

Closely regulated use of cannabis was legalized in 2018, with several restrictions gradually eased since then.

Thai officials hope that a major new cannabis industry will blossom, not only generating hundreds of millions of dollars directly each year, but also attracting foreign tourists, who have only recently begun returning in large numbers after being largely absent during the COVID-19 pandemic.

When the measure goes into effect June 9, possessing and using all parts of cannabis plants, including flowers and seeds, will be allowed. However, extracted content will remain illegal if it contains more than 0.2% of the psychoactive ingredient that produces a “high” — tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC.

Anutin declared that individuals will no longer need to obtain a permit to grow cannabis at home, as long as it is declared to be for medicinal purposes and does not have THC content above the legal maximum.

Thai officials have not explained how the conditions can be enforced.

Large-scale growing operations will still need permission from the country’s Food and Drug Administration to make cannabis products, which are seen as being used mainly for medicines and food additives.

The Food and Drug Administration received about 4,700 applications by late April for licenses to import, possess, grow and produce cannabis and hemp, the Bangkok Post newspaper reported.

Activists had been rallying to have recreational marijuana use legalized in Thailand. ZUMA24.com

Anutin’s Bhumjai Thai Party, a major partner in the coalition government, campaigned in the 2019 general election for the legalization of cannabis production, saying it would benefit farmers.

Cannabis seed oil cancer

Cannabidiol (CBD) has become a buzzword within the cancer community. But while some people with cancer have found CBD to be helpful in managing side effects, research does not yet support CBD’s use for cancer treatment. Here, find out what CBD is, how it is being studied in people with cancer, and whether it is safe, effective, and legal. Studies have shown that CBD may have several benefits for cancer patients. This article highlights the most important effects of CBD on cancer symptoms along with the best brands that sell CBD oil in 2020. Cannabis is a plant and a class B drug. CBD oil is a chemical found in cannabis. Research is looking at the substances in cannabis to see if it might help treat cancer.

Cannabis seed oil cancer

Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is one of many chemicals found in the cannabis plant. It has been touted in some online forums as an alternative treatment, and even a cure, for many illnesses, including cancer. And, some people with cancer say that CBD has helped them as a complementary therapy in managing their symptoms and side effects from standard cancer treatment.

Yet there’s very little research around CBD and its use in treating people with cancer. Here’s what to know about what CBD is and what science currently shows about whether it’s safe and effective for people with cancer to use.

What is CBD?

CBD is 1 of the hundreds of chemicals found in the flowering cannabis plant. CBD does not have the psychoactive, or mind-altering, effects of another chemical found in cannabis called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is the chemical that causes people to experience a “high.” CBD, on the other hand, is being used by some to help ease pain, anxiety, and sleep issues.

CBD comes from cannabis plants called hemp that are specifically grown with high levels of CBD and low levels of THC. Cannabis plants grown with high levels of THC are usually called marijuana. CBD comes from oil that is extracted from the cannabis plant. That oil can then be ingested as a liquid, a capsule, a gummy, or inhaled through vaping. It can also be added as an ingredient in such products as lotions and skin patches.

There is much about CBD that is still unknown. It has largely gone unstudied because, until 2018, it was considered a schedule I drug by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). A schedule I drug is a drug that has been declared illegal by the DEA because of safety concerns over its potential for abuse and because there is no accepted medical use for it. Then, in September 2018, the DEA updated CBD’s status to become a schedule V drug. Schedule V drugs have a lower potential for abuse and are deemed to have some medical use.

There is currently 1 CBD treatment approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) called Epidiolex, which is used to treat a rare and severe form of epilepsy in children. There are not currently any FDA-approved CBD medications for treating cancer or side effects of cancer treatments.

Can CBD help people with cancer?

Studies to answer this question are underway. Some scientists are studying whether CBD could relieve some of the side effects of cancer and its treatment, such as pain, insomnia, anxiety, or nausea. Other scientists are studying whether CBD could potentially slow or stop the growth of cancer.

To date, no large-scale studies have shown CBD to have benefits for the treatment of people with cancer. Most studies that have been done evaluating CBD as a cancer treatment were in mice or in human cells in the lab. For instance, there are some studies that have shown that CBD inhibits the growth of cancer cells in mice with lung cancer or colon cancer. Another study showed that CBD, together with THC, killed glioblastoma cancer cells in the lab. However, no studies have been conducted in people with cancer.

There have been some studies that show that CBD, alone or together with THC, may relieve pain, insomnia, or anxiety, but these studies were not specific to people with cancer. While no studies to date have shown that CBD eases these side effects specifically in people with cancer or people receiving cancer treatment, some people with cancer have reported benefits in taking CBD, such as helping with nausea, vomiting, depression, and other side effects. According to ASCO guidelines, your doctor may consider prescribing cannabinoids for chronic pain management if you live in a state where it is legal. However, ASCO guidelines state that there is not enough evidence to support the use of cannabinoids for preventing nausea and vomiting in people with cancer receiving radiation therapy or chemotherapy.

There are 2 synthetic cannabis medications, nabilone (Cesamet) and dronabinol (Marinol or Syndros), that are FDA-approved to treat nausea and vomiting related to chemotherapy. These medications are made in a laboratory.

Is CBD safe for people with cancer?

You may find stories online of people discussing the benefits of CBD as a cancer treatment or as relief for side effects. Please remember that such personal stories, while they may be well-meaning, are shared without scientific study and do not constitute evidence. The safety and efficacy of CBD for people with cancer still has to be proven in large, randomized, controlled clinical trials.

It is also important to note that some studies have shown that CBD might interfere with how your body processes cancer drugs, called a drug interaction. This might make cancer treatments more toxic or make them less effective. More research is needed on these effects, too. For these reasons, always tell your oncologist if you’re thinking about using CBD before you take it.

You may also be wondering if CBD is legal in your area. Some states allow the sale and possession of cannabis, including CBD and THC, for medical and recreational use. Others have stricter regulations, so state-by-state laws should always be learned before transporting CBD across state lines. Things are more complicated at the federal level. In 2018, the U.S. government recognized that hemp can be grown and manufactured legally as part of the Farm Act. Hemp can be used to make things like rope and clothing, in addition to CBD oil. In other words, hemp is no longer a controlled substance, which means it is not regulated by the government. This means that consumers have to evaluate the safety and quality of CBD products on their own. Some CBD, for example, may have much higher levels of THC than what is labeled.

The bottom line is this: Always talk to your doctor first if you’re thinking about using CBD. Because the research does not yet support the use of CBD in helping people with cancer, it’s important to raise the topic with your doctor before taking it. There are several clinical trials underway studying the use of CBD in cancer care, and you and your oncologist can talk through the possible benefits and risks of you joining a research study to help find answers to some of the questions about CBD, including whether it may reduce side effects or improve quality of life.

CBD Oil for Cancer: Can Cannabis Oil Be Used as a Cure & Treatment?

It’s challenging to find a place that wouldn’t stock CBD today, at least in its traditional oil form. CBD oil has taken the United States by storm, driving the attention of doctors, researchers, and media outlets across the world. Universities are starting their research on the possibility of treating a variety of health conditions with CBD, including cancer.

As CBD continues to change the public perception of cannabis, more people than ever are turning to CBD oil as a natural alternative for their ailments. In this article, we’re going to shed light on scientific research concerning the potential use of CBD oil for cancer and its symptoms.

We’ll also provide our list of recommended CBD oils that could potentially help individuals on their way to safe recovery.

CBD Oil for Cancer-related Symptoms

There is limited research into CBD’s potential as a treatment for cancer and its symptoms. The FDA refuses to acknowledge CBD oil as a treatment for cancer; there’s only one pharmaceutical containing cannabidiol — its name is Epidiolex. However, Epidiolex is reserved for epilepsy patients, not those struggling with cancer.

If you want to use CBD oil for cancer, make sure to make an appointment with a doctor first; doing so will give you a fuller image of how CBD oil could help your treatment.

While CBD isn’t a cure-all, it can surely help you ease several of its symptoms as well as some adverse reactions to chemotherapy and radiation.

Here’s what studies have found when it comes to using CBD oil for cancer.

Nausea

Researchers have proposed CBD as a natural resource to reduce nausea and vomiting due to how it interacts with the brain. Many patients regularly use cannabinoids to calm the uncomfortable sensation of nausea as an unwanted effect of chemotherapy, radiation, and anti-cancer medications. Moreover, CBD regulates serotonin levels, which can reduce the stimulation in the brain’s area responsible for vomiting.

Pain

In a 2015 study conducted by Care By Design, most patients who took CBD oil for pain and inflammation reported improvements in their symptoms. CBD acts on specific pathways in the brain that may reduce inflammation and block pain signals. Pain is one of the most troubling symptoms of cancer — and a side effect of chemotherapy — so these are very promising results for those suffering from cancer.

Fatigue and Sleep Disturbances

CBD is an adaptogen, meaning they can help the body maintain homeostasis within the body without negatively impacting its functioning as well as making any changes in the brain structure. Adaptogens are also classified as smart molecules because they can act exactly where they are needed to promote balance and strengthen regeneration processes, such as neurogenesis. When cancer patients suffer from a lack of sleep, CBD may help ease some of the stress and anxiety that are often associated with this condition. This can help the body regulate its sleep cycles.

CBD may also help target the specific processes in the body to provide it with enough energy and vitality, which can be useful for cancer patients after chemotherapy. On top of the above, it can also improve focus. Some scientists refer to CBD as “the boy scout molecule” because it always reaches the right target in any given situation.

Loss of Appetite

Although some individuals report appetite suppression after using CBD, it turns out it may have an opposite effect on others. When CBD reaches specific receptors in the brain, it can improve your appetite. And since the majority of cancer patients suffer from loss of appetite, this particular trait of CBD oil may come in handy when it comes to helping the body’s needs for nourishment, which the body needs throughout the disease and after radiation.

Can CBD Oil Help Cure Cancer?

There’s a lot of anecdotal evidence floating online from people claiming they have been cured of cancer by using cannabis. Scientific research performed on animals has shown that CBD can shrink tumors and stop them from spreading. For example, a research paper from 2011 showed that the stimulation of cannabinoid receptors through a mix of cannabinoids and fatty acids could potentially relieve prostate tumors.

Another study published in Plus One highlighted CBD’s anti-cancer properties to trigger a process of apoptosis — the death of cancerous cells — preventing tumor growth by reducing the number of certain proteins that are involved in the spread of malignant cells. The researchers concluded that they would recommend CBD as an anti-cancer agent due to its safety and lack of life-threatening side effects.

We’ve also visited the Cure your Own Cancer site, where patients provide their testimonials about their success in treating cancer with cannabis oil. The website was founded by a young activist Lincoln Horsley and it shares a lot of free information about cannabis, cancer, and how products like CBD oil can be used to support individuals on their way to recovery.

With all that said, using CBD oil for cancer isn’t an approved treatment because there haven’t been many human trials regarding this issue. Therefore, consumers must keep in mind that while anecdotal evidence about CBD oil and cancer is very optimistic, it must be scientifically investigated before being approved as a treatment method.

Best CBD Brands for Cancer Aid

The following compilation is a summary of CBD oils that we’ve selected after analyzing over 40 brands from local stores and online retailers. They have been evaluated according to the quality criteria such as hemp source, extraction methods, third-party testing, and customer service.

1. Royal CBD (Most Potent)

Get 15% off all Royal CBD products. Use code “CFAH” at checkout.

Product Details

Potency 250 mg –2500 mg
Available Flavors Natural, Berry, Mint, Vanilla
CBD per serving 8.3 mg – 83.3 mg

Why Royal CBD is the Best CBD Oil for Cancer

My story with Royal CBD started about two years ago when we first read about them in one of our news briefs. They attracted us with the simplicity of their product selection, with only a few full-spectrum CBD oils available for sale. After two years, the company has grown by miles and expanded its line with capsules, gummies, and topicals — also adding a high-potency option to their oils.

Since then, Royal CBD oil has been our number one product.

Royal CBD oils come in four different potency options, including 250 mg, 500 mg, 1000 mg, and 2500 mg. You can choose from flavors like Mint, Berry, and Vanilla, save for the highest strengths, which only comes in the unflavored version. These are full-spectrum products, meaning they were made using the whole plant and contain all the non-psychoactive cannabinoids and terpenes originally found in hemp. I’ve noticed the best results when it comes to nausea and pain relief using the 2500 mg bottle. The oil has also helped calm my anxiety and improved sleep.

Note: Royal CBD is only available online; you won’t find it in any local store, although their online shop offers great discounts and a loyalty program that lets you save money on their products.

  • Sourced from locally grown organic hemp
  • Extracted with supercritical CO2
  • Contains full-spectrum CBD
  • Available in 4 potencies and flavors
  • Up to 2500 mg of CBD per bottle
  • Only available online

2. Gold Bee (Best Flavor)

Product Details

Potency 250 mg –1200 mg
Available Flavors Natural, Honey
CBD per serving 8.3 mg – 83.3 mg

About Gold Bee

Gold Bee is a Nevada-rooted brand that focuses on making honey-flavored CBD extracts. The company has developed its own blend of high-CBD strains in partnership with local growers from Colorado. These plants are grown from non-GMO seeds in healthy soils and without growth boosters or pesticides.

Aside from the premium quality of ingredients, I believe this brand deserves much appreciation for how they mix CBD with honey. The flavor is surprisingly natural and masks the earthy hemp aftertaste that you get from full-spectrum CBD oil.

About the effects, I noticed similar results with my anxiety and pain to what I got from Royal CBD oil, but due to the lack of high-potency oil in its selection, I’ve decided to give the guys at Gold Bee second place.

However, if low-to-moderate doses of CBD work for you, this is one of the best brands to purchase CBD oil from.

  • Made from US-grown organic hemp
  • Infused with full-spectrum CBD
  • Up to 33 mg CBD/mL
  • Decent potency range for beginners
  • Third-party tested for potency and purity
  • Delicious honey flavor
  • No high-potency oils in their collection

3. CBDPure (Best Transparency)

Product Details

Potency 100 mg –1000 mg
Available Flavors None
CBD per serving 3.3 mg – 33 mg/mL

About CBDPure

CBDPure specializes in making mostly low-potency CBD oil. Recently, the brand has added a 1000 mg potency to their collection, which we simply couldn’t miss.

One interesting thing about CBDPure is that its low-potency oils work better than some high-potency products I’ve tried so far. For me, CBDPure is a textbook example of how to make top-of-the -shelf full-spectrum extracts. The effects were very similar to what I’ve experienced with the other two companies in this ranking.

CBDPure is my third-best pick on this list because both Royal CBD and Gold Bee offer a better price/quality ratio.

  • Made from organic Colorado-grown hemp
  • Extracted with supercritical CO2
  • Lab-tested for CBD content and purity
  • Contains full-spectrum CBD
  • 90-day return policy
  • Only two types of product available

About Hemp Bombs

Hemp Bombs is an American manufacturer that produces CBD oil made from 99% pure isolate. The company offers an extensive range of CBD extracts, offering up to 4000 mg of total CBD. This CBD oil is an excellent choice for cancer patients who, for some reason, want to avoid any THC in their oil. Full-spectrum products contain 0.3% THC or less, which isn’t enough to get anyone high, but CBD isolate is 100% THC-free.

CBD isolate is also odorless and flavorless, so it’s a good alternative for those who have problems with holding full-spectrum extracts in their mouth. That being said, there’s no synergy from other cannabinoids and terpenes, so Hemp Bombs may not be the best choice for those looking for the entourage effect in cannabis.

  • Sourced from organic hemp
  • Extracted with supercritical CO2

What is CBD?

CBD is one of over 100 compounds in cannabis plants, which are categorized as cannabinoids. Unlike its psychoactive cousin THC, CBD can’t make you feel high. However, it still offers a plethora of benefits for our health.

It turns out that all mammals have an endocannabinoid system (discovered in the 1990s), which is a prime self-regulatory network composed of cannabinoid receptors and neurotransmitters known as endocannabinoids. Endocannabinoids are chemical messengers that are released to maintain homeostasis in the body, which is a state of equilibrium between all bodily functions, such as pain signaling, appetite, sleep cycles, immune function, emotional processing, and more.

CBD acts as a modulator, meaning it signals the endocannabinoid system to produce and maintain more of its native cannabinoids to help them effectively maintain the balance within the body.

CBD can also help the endocannabinoid system regain its proper functioning when homeostasis has been disrupted. Through the said signaling, it can promote the formation of healthy cells in the body while turning on the process of apoptosis — the destruction of malignant cells.

People use CBD for a wide range of health problems, from common anxiety to inflammatory conditions and severe chronic diseases, such as osteoarthritis, epilepsy, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and cancer.

What is CBD Oil?

CBD oil is a liquid extract that contains high concentrations of CBD. It is made using hemp flowers, the resinous part of the plant. After initial extraction, CBD oil usually undergoes filtration to dump the redundant plant material and suspend the extract in a food-grade carrier oil, such as hemp seed oil or MCT oil.

CBD oil comes in glass bottles with a dropper attached for easier and precise dosing. To take CBD oil, you need to use the dropper to measure out the dose and place the oil beneath your tongue, allowing it to sit there for about one minute to let it absorb through special membranes in the mouth. You can swish it around the mouth to increase the surface area and increase the oil’s bioavailability.

Is CBD Oil Legal?

CBD can be produced from hemp and marijuana, so it’s understandable that you may have questions about its legality.

Marijuana-derived CBD oil will contain a considerable amount of THC, which crosses the legal 0.3% barrier. Such products can get the user high and are legal only in states that legalized recreational marijuana use. In states with a medical marijuana program, you can apply for a medical marijuana card to purchase marijuana-derived CBD oil from one of the state-licensed dispensaries.

Hemp is legal on the federal level because it contains up to 0.3% THC, which can do anything but produce a psychoactive buzz. In 2018, hemp was removed from the list of controlled substances. Hemp-derived CBD oil can be found over the counter in pharmacies, dispensaries, fitness studios, local health stores, and online. It’s a plant-based supplement, so you don’t need a prescription for it.

Final Thoughts on Using CBD Oil for Cancer

Researchers agree that cancer patients could benefit from CBD oil to some extent, but there is still much we don’t know about the exact mechanism behind its anti-cancer potential. Therefore, it’s too early to draw any conclusions.

Fortunately, CBD has garnered much attention from the medical community lately, and scientists are willing to further investigate its effects on cancer, its symptoms, and the side effects of chemotherapy. For instance, the Spanish Observatory on Medical Cannabis is aggressively researching cancer treatment with cannabis extracts, regularly posting their findings on its website.

If you want to try CBD oil to support your well-being during your cancer treatment and ease some of the uncomfortable side effects of chemotherapy, consult your doctor about it, and above all, always buy your CBD oil from a reputable source that can provide premium-quality ingredients proven by lab-testing reports.

Cannabis, CBD oil and cancer

Cannabis is a plant and a class B drug. It affects people differently. It can make you feel relaxed and chilled but it can also make you feel sick, affect your memory and make you feel lethargic. CBD oil is a chemical found in cannabis.

Summary:

  • Cannabis has been used for centuries recreationally and as a medicine.
  • It is illegal to possess or supply cannabis as it is a class B drug.
  • Research is looking at the substances in cannabis to see if it might help treat cancer.
  • There are anti sickness medicines that contain man-made substances of cannabis.

What are cannabis and cannabinoids?

Cannabis is a plant. It is known by many names including marijuana, weed, hemp, grass, pot, dope, ganja and hash.

The plant produces a resin that contains a number of substances or chemicals. These are called cannabinoids. Cannabinoids can have medicinal effects on the body.
The main cannabinoids are:

  • Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)
  • Cannabidiol (CBD)

THC is a psychoactive substance that can create a ‘high’ feeling. It can affect how your brain works, changing your mood and how you feel.

CBD is a cannabinoid that may relieve pain, lower inflammation and decrease anxiety without the psychoactive ‘high’ effect of THC.

Different types of cannabis have differing amounts of these and other chemicals in them. This means they can have different effects on the body.

Cannabis is a class B drug in the UK. This means that it is illegal to have it, sell it or buy it.

CBD oil, cannabis oil and hemp oil

There are different types of oil made from parts of the cannabis plant. Some are sold legally in health food stores as a food supplement. Other types of oil are illegal.

CBD oil comes from the flowers of the cannabis plant and does not contain the psychoactive substance THC. It can be sold in the UK as a food supplement but not as a medicine. There is no evidence to support its use as a medicine.

Cannabis oil comes from the flowers, leaves and stalks of the cannabis plant. Cannabis oil often contains high levels of the psychoactive ingredient THC. Cannabis oil is illegal in the UK.

Hemp oil comes from the seeds of a type of cannabis plant that doesn’t contain the main psychoactive ingredient THC. Hemp seed oil is used for various purposes including as a protein supplement for food, a wood varnish and an ingredient in soaps.

Why people with cancer use it

Cannabis has been used medicinally and recreationally for hundreds of years.

There has been a lot of interest into whether cannabinoids might be useful as a cancer treatment. The scientific research done so far has been laboratory research, with mixed results, so we do not know if cannabinoids can treat cancer in people.

Results have shown that different cannabinoids can:

  • cause cell death
  • block cell growth
  • stop the development of blood vessels – needed for tumours to grow
  • reduce inflammation
  • reduce the ability of cancers to spread

Scientists also discovered that cannabinoids can:

  • sometimes encourage cancer cells to grow
  • cause damage to blood vessels

Cannabinoids have helped with sickness and pain in some people.

Medical cannabis

This means a cannabis based product used to relieve symptoms.

Some cannabis based products are available on prescription as medicinal cannabis. The following medicines are sometimes prescribed to help relieve symptoms.

Nabilone (Cesamet)

Nabilone is a drug developed from cannabis. It is licensed for treating severe sickness from chemotherapy that is not controlled by other anti sickness drugs. It is a capsule that you swallow whole.

Sativex (Nabiximols)

Sativex is a cannabis-based medicine. It is licensed in the UK for people with Multiple Sclerosis muscle spasticity that hasn’t improved with other treatments. Sativex is a liquid that you spray into your mouth.

Researchers are looking into Sativex as a treatment for cancer related symptoms and for certain types of cancer.

How you have it

Cannabis products can be smoked, vaporized, ingested (eating or drinking), absorbed through the skin (in a patch) or as a cream or spray.

CBD oil comes as a liquid or in capsules.

Side effects

Prescription drugs such as Nabilone can cause side effects. This can include:

  • increased heart rate
  • blood pressure problems
  • drowsiness
  • mood changes
  • memory problems

Cannabis that contains high levels of THC can cause panic attacks, hallucinations and paranoia.

There are also many cannabis based products available online without a prescription. The quality of these products can vary. It is impossible to know what substances they might contain. They could potentially be harmful to your health and may be illegal.

Research into cannabinoids and cancer

We need more research to know if cannabis or the chemicals in it can treat cancer.

Clinical trials need to be done in large numbers where some patients have the drug and some don’t. Then you can compare how well the treatment works.

Many of the studies done so far have been small and in the laboratory. There have been a few studies involving people with cancer.

Sativex and temozolomide for a brain tumour (glioblastoma) that has come back

In 2021, scientists reported the final results of a phase 1 study to treat people with recurrent glioblastoma (a type of brain tumour that has come back). The study looked at Sativex in combination with the chemotherapy drug temozolomide.

Researchers found that adding Sativex caused side effects, which included, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, nausea and headache but patients found the side effects manageable.

They also observed that 83 out of 100 people (83%) were alive after one year using Sativex, compared to 44 out of 100 people (44%) taking the placebo.

However, this phase 1 study only involved 27 patients, which was too small to learn about any potential benefits of Sativex. The study wanted to find out if Sativex and temozolomide was safe to take by patients.

Researchers have now started a larger phase 2 trial called ARISTOCRAT, to find out if this treatment is effective and who might benefit from it. Speak to your specialist if you want to take part in a clinical trial.

Sativex and cancer pain

There are trials looking at whether Sativex can help with cancer pain that has not responded to other painkillers.

The results of one trial showed that Sativex did not improve pain levels. You can read the results of the trial on our clinical trials website.

Cancer and nausea and vomiting

A cannabis based medicine, Nabilone, is a treatment for nausea and vomiting.

A Cochrane review in 2015 looked at all the research available looking into cannabis based medicine as a treatment for nausea and sickness in people having chemotherapy for cancer. It reported that many of the studies were too small or not well run to be able to say how well these medicines work. They say that they may be useful if all other medicines are not working.

Other research

A drug called dexanabinol which is a man made form of a chemical similar to that found in cannabis has been trialled in a phase 1 trial. This is an early trial that tries to work out whether or not the drug works in humans, what the correct dose is and what the side effects might be. The results are not available yet. You can read about the trial on our clinical trials database.

Word of caution

Cannabis is a class B drug and illegal in the UK.

There are internet scams where people offer to sell cannabis preparations to people with cancer. There is no knowing what the ingredients are in these products and they could harm your health.
Some of these scammers trick cancer patients into buying ‘cannabis oil’ which they then never receive.

You could talk with your cancer specialist about the possibility of joining a clinical trial. Trials can give access to new drugs in a safe and monitored environment.
